About

Michaela Dannenbrink graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona in 2016. She now lives and works in Tucson Arizona. During her day job as a scenic artist for Arizona Theatre she paints sets and backdrops, shaping how stories are told by creating a visual atmosphere that creates location for the characters.
Her personal art work focuses on relationships between people and their memories. Primarily working with watercolor and ink paints she combines abstract and realistic aspects into her work. Spending her childhood moving from place to place she explores how location and memory correlate and impact each other. She focuses on honoring the past and depicting different perceptions of memory. Using visual representations of places and people she hopes to bring back recollections and emotions surrounding those memories. She gains inspiration from her family, traditions and childhood recollections.
